BUT, Booman, you ARE influenced by all the big names of Western intellectual history. Our everyday thoughts are soaked with Plato, Descartes, Kant, etc. etc. Actually, it might be argued that the only way to free oneself from their influence (if one can do so at all) is to study them carefully and critically, not to be unaware of them.
Hmm...I guess you're saying I may have been influenced by these guys second or third hand. Perhaps a tad. But keep in mind many of my concepts were formed as a child. And with many I found the most concurrence, when I discovered Non-western philosophies later in life. And finally, I was introduced to the bible as a child and I my interpretations were contrary to popular thought. For instance, to my knowledge, only I believe "Satan", represents intellect, and independent thought. Of course, when I was coming up, I kept it to myself, that I didn't take the bible literally.

ci Is this something you know for a certainty???
Frank Apisa- Love you dearly, but I just HAD to make a comment. I have never met anyone like you in my entire life whose raison d'etre was that you are not sure of anything when it comes to religion. Also, apparently that your overriding concern in life is attempting to convince everyone else that the right way to live is not to be certain of anything.
Please don't start an argument with me on this. I AM CERTAIN of what I am saying in this context!

Okay, but you are missing out on a great discussion.
C.I,
...I kept getting indications that my post wasn.t going through, yesterday. I never got through until today. Well, at least I got my point across.. point across.. point across.
Phoenix,
...Sounds like a minister of Agnosticism, to me. Kidding Frank, KIDDING!

Phoenix, you are doing Frank a grave injustice. At least he's honest...I think.
J.L. Nobody- I would never do Frank an injustice. We go back a long ways.
I was just being honest about MY feelings!
Frank, These are only my wild-guess assumptions, and you know what they say about "assuming" anything.

Ah, but you CAN'T KNOW that, and if you SAY you do, you're FOOLING yourself!
Robespierre had posted on the cemetaries in Paris the following (translated):
"Here is only enternal sleep."
Sorry to rain on anybody's parade, but it don't get no better'n this, so make the most of life while you live it . . . there ain't no reset . . .
