Doesn't Swinger mean, a married individual, sharing with their spouse, sex with other married couples?
The meaning of words--particularly slang--becomes very fluid.
Once upon a time most people were married and wife-swapping was for swingers. Now there are many more single people and much more admitted variety is sexual behavior.
