Along with the Red meat thing altering your colon's Dna,it was noticed in studies in Sweden that what happened to someone father or grandfather(bad harvest or whatever)seem to affect further generations.

IT IS THEORISED that some things created epigenetic changes in the Y chrosomone.

Same with grand mothers and their granddaughters.

Bad harvests increased the longevity of the grandchildren.
