great stuff, reyn. i like your second and third abstract take on the wood picture, i can't decide which one i like more. the last one is very dreamy, almost looks as a close up of some fairy fabric, the second is just beaming with energy, transmitting great mood on me. keep it up.

Reyn, hope you don't mind but I messed around with your image a bit, just for kicks.

Few quick filters and you can change the image into something almost totally unrecognizable.

No, not at all! I'm here to learn from others and get ideas. So, "the more, the merrier"!

Yes, one can take practically any photo (or anything for that matter) and turn it into quite the piece of art.

Thanks, Dag. I find it quite therapeutic and a lot of fun. You're never quite sure what the end result might be.

how did I miss this thread? there's some lovely work - Phoenix you should carry on as you do have an 'eye' for it - some of yours were great. The one that reminded you or someone of a painter - it reminded me of the work of Therese Oulton.

Therese Oulton

Vivien- I love yours, especially the ones with the rust.

I am really getting into this stuff, but I am a complete novice when it comes to art. I really appreciate feedback, because I am flying by the seat of my pants!

Vivien, they're lovely. I particularly like the composition of the last one, with the bolts.

Wow this thread has been busy. I can see that I'll need to go back more than just a few pages to catch up.

What cool photos Reyn and Vivien.

I finally got a chance to play around with my new underwater camera and I think the results are pretty abstract.

Here's one:

While not purely abstract, I guess, I very much like #1.

Thanks all!

They were insanely fun to take. I have never had an underwater camera before and I had no idea what to expect. It was a blast goofing off with it.

I think the first one might be more abstract if you didn't know it was taken with an underwater camera.

The second two - I didn't crop them or change them at all. That's just how they came out. I can't even really explain what they're of. That yellow stuff has me baffeled.

You're probably right. It was an indoor pool but I don't remember the lights being so yellow.

Or the ceiling so black or the bubbles so blue for that matter!
