"Alienation"

Can anybody please define "alienation" for me?

When I looked at dictionary.com it says it has something to do with isolating oneself from others. However I thought another definition of it is, "to do something forced against your own will." As in you have no choice to do it e.g. the rising gas prices... no choice but to pay for it, etc. Thanks.

You're alienating yourself, Dys.

I know, I'm the subject of your alienation already.

AKw--

Welcome to A2K.

While higher prices and other inconveniences can alienate (turn you against) life in the present, "alienate" does not mean being forced to pay higher prices.

alienating means to target and isolate a specific group of individuals . I think it's similar to discrimination.

It also means to make an individual feel like an outsider. usually with hostility and unfriendliness
