Do we speak "at" or "on" the telephone?

Surely you are having a conversation "through the telephone". But the average lay person would simply say: "per our phone conversation" or "about our phone conversation". Why are you making it so hard on yourself? What country are you from? Or more so, what planet are you from? Lol! (laugh out loud)!
