they're home, rjb, night game Sat, rare day games Sun. and Mon. (Patriot's Day--only in MA). The Sox are running a string of something like 700 soldout home games. Ticket scalpers and resellers very expensive--Sox usually hold a couple hundred tickets and release them at face valueto people who stand in line (queueing up hours before the game) at Gate B a couple hours before the game. Good luck. (Incidentally, the runners in the Boston Marathon start coming by a couple blocks away from the park on Mon, fairly late in the game).
@MontereyJack,
April 18 ain't Patriots' Day; it's the day before.

I.e., Patriots' Day is Monday April 19.
Mrs Walter has seen some of my photos from my USA-trip this year and now agrees to join me the next time [which, besides others, means, that I have to behave myself.]
Well, plans are nearly completed.
The end of that tour (in May) will be Boston.
We want to see, however, a bit more of New England and not only Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord like I did the last time.
My question for the most honourable Beantowners here: should we stay in Boston (for nearly a week or so) and make day trips from there (which I would prefer) or go somewhere else, too. (And that's: where?)
@Walter Hinteler,
I'd recommend a stay in Boston. That way you can take a side trip south to
Cape Cod and north to the coast of Maine.
@George,
That's what I'd thought of ... thanks, George.
Would you stay in Boston, or stay near Boston?
I'd recommend staying in/near Boston and using it as a jumping off point.
@littlek,
I'm looking for a b&b IN Boston, more suburban, close to public transport. (Found some already, it's now "only" the task to find the best rates/days for the various flights ....)
@Walter Hinteler,
I believe there's a B&B in Brookline, on Beacon Street.
Getting more serious with my plans now and trying to find the best & cheapest flights.
(It will be a trip through Colorado like I did this year, a couple of days in NM. Then, by car, via Grand Cannon, Salt Lake City, Reno to SF. From there to Boston and then back.)
We'll arrive in Boston on June 1 (evening) and leave on June 9 (evening).
@Walter Hinteler,
Got your email; how long in SF area?
@Walter Hinteler,
Lots to see. Sounds good.
Definitely go to the Restaurant at the End of the World, I love that place.
We're staying from June 1 (late evening) until June 9 (noonish) in Salem, MA.
(Which is very appropriate, since I was born [and lived a long time] in a "witch town", my mother's nickname during her youth was "black witch" ...
)
So when was the last gathering, sorry I don't have the time to read back to see :-(... and when is the next one :-)
And if the next one is soon (or later) will it be easier to get to than the one I went to years ago hahaha! (George know's what I am talking about).. just because I now have a GPS doesn't mean I still won't get lost!
@Crazielady420,
George is still lost, we hear.
