There are a ton of pics. I want to show them in stages, so first are the ones with people in 'em. Since I took the photos, there's no pic of me, so I'm enclosing a pic o' me from Cape Cod, a month ago.
Actually I had to fiddle with brightness; the day was misty and clouds came and went. We were there from about 1 to 3:30 or so, and at the copper beeches it was raining enough to open umbrellas, but only briefly. Next up (tonight) will be the pics from the Bonsai garden.

@ossobuco,
Which quercus? So ya know, the Amur Cork tree is Phellodendron amurense.
I was guessing, I had thought you said Amur Oaks + Cork trees.
Quercus suber is a Cork oak.
I just checked and found the Amur Corktree... Phellodendron amurense, as you said. New to me......
didn't find anything under Amur oak, but didn't chase around for it.
Looked a bit more - the Quercus suber is the source of commercial cork, or so the book says. Anyway, I just learned a new tree, with the Phellodendron.
the tension of waiting... the undeniable anticipation... it is building up to an explosive crescendo the likes of which may never again be witnessed by humankind...
Lovely place, a treasure. Loved the last two photos, with the Acer and whatever was to the right of it.
It's a tad late in life for me to start bonsai-ing, but I can imagine playing with it.
Actually, I did, a little, but not seriously, back in the seventies. Part of that was that I liked the containers as well as the bonsais. What a fool.
