Merry Andrew sort of split abruptly. I didn't get to say good bye. So.... See ya Andrew. Maybe if you come back to Boston some day....

@jespah,
It's weird, y'all look like family, especially Merry Andrew, George, and Monterey Jack.

@littlek,
Wasn't really all that abrupt, K. You were busy chatting with Quinn and I didn't want to interrupt. Anyway, yes, a good time was had by all, certainly including yours truly. And I would like to thank all the great Boston folk for arranging this fine and festive farewell and a special thanks to Thomas for driving all the way up from NJ just to be with us. The Stockyard venue was a great choice. There's probably a good reason why, at the last moment, we had to change meeting places from Smokehouse to Stockyard. (And someday one of us will figure out what that reason was.)

Good pics, too, except for the one where my hair seems to sticking way out in back. Prob'ly George had just told one of his hair-raising stories. That man is a raconteur's raconteur.

@Merry Andrew,
Static at the gathering, yes (hair raising). It was a great time and we learned that George names his cars, among other interesting ephemera.

PS Thank you all -- I just wish my eyes were open. Man, maybe I've got them closed in ecstasy. Yeah, that's the ticket, except the reality is that George was making me laugh.

Cool photos! I have met everyone there in person except Quinn and M-Jack. I am sure it was fun.
Good luck, best wishes, on your new life in Hawaii, Merry Andrew.

@Merry Andrew,
I've noticed that, on his recent exercise notes. He's a bloomin' raconteur!

I don't see any comments on the food that was served at the Stockyard, what did folks have and was it any good.

I think that Merry looks great in the pictures.

Sorry I missed the festivities

@Merry Andrew,
MA, the restuarant was changed because Smokehouse doesn't open until 4pm on Sunday.

Our Bostonians don't just look that way. They're not just delightful individuals, they also harmonize as a group. (At least they seem that way to this outsider.) All they need to make them like a real family is a grain of dysfunction and friction.

@Thomas,
Thomas, I understand. Trust me. Of course, we here in Abq have significant dysfunction, so, no problemo.

Plus you've been looking cute...

re: Thomas and osso
Thomas, why are you calling yourself an outsider? You take that back, right now. Cue Sister Sledge: "We are fam-i-lee, We are fam-i-lee...."

Jes, in addition to being spectacular, brought party favors for everyone. Andy got a book of Andrew Wyeth (MA had the name first) pictures. Kris got two books for her class which featured snot and other bodily effluvia prominently--just the kind of books that kids really get off on. And everybody got either a ninja or a heavy metal mini rubber duckie. I got a rubber duckie bassist wearing black leather and studs, betcha didn't know ducks did leather, with one of those 5os hipster Mephistophelean chin beards--it's hard to do a beard if you've got a beak, and wearing shades. This is my second shade-wearing duckie, but far cooler than duck #1, I may have to start a collection. Our waitperson came in and saw the ducks on the table--her eyes got big and she gasped "I collect rubber ducks!!!" So Jes gave her a ninja duck and a rock-and-egg-roller duck. We gave her the ducks in lieu of a tip. No, no, no, we gave her a tip too. Actually the restaurant pre-tipped her, they added it to the bill. But she deserved it.

Everyone is planning on being in Boston the end of the month, right? when we help Dasha defend her dissertation.

The ninja duckies are the ones wearing the hoods--as you can tell blue is the new black. Notice the r&r duck wearing the thong--very racy.
