Francis,
I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I should not be taking my frustration out on you. I'm not even upset with you. Please forgive me.

Being on A2K, telling lies and everything?
(I try not to see red)...
I missed this the first time around.
Bump
No. You're killing yourself. I'm just showing the photo album.
Lash, I pity you. To be so angry and so resentful has to be hard on anyone. I'm not going to continue fighting with you tonight Lash. I was upset about that soldier dying and I really let this issue get carried away tonight because of it.
<Plan B since the "stupid emoticon, you're killing me plan" didn't work so well.>
No, actually Plan B was to just let you have it and tell you exactly how I was feeling at the time. This would be Plan C. :wink: This is where I have to take a good look at what's going on with me and realize where the real emotions are coming from. But, I'm not apologizing to you at all, so don't sweat it.
Very interesting idea for this thread, M.A.
Have you ever heard an analogy having to do with comparing the gospel of Jesus with saving a flock of birds?
Have you ever wondered where a word came from Snood? I don't mean from which language, etc., but the very idea of the word? I guess that's something we'll never know.
No Snood, can't say that I have heard that analogy. I've heard of the shepherd leaving the flock of 99 to save the one. Tell me about it?
I will - I want to make sure I get it right, so I'm going to ask the person who told it to me originally.
Yes, I've wondered about the origin of words. Like, how 'white' came to have connotations of 'good', and 'black' with 'evil' and such like.

white=light
black=dark
dark=nocternal predators, cant see, generally scary for primitives=evil
or something along those lines, would be my guess.
Okay Dok but then where did light and dark (the words themselves) come from?
Do you think it's possible to trace a word all the way to it's very origin?
There are a number of professional 'word nerds' on this site, MoAn. They're most likely to be posting in the English and languages forums.
The study of word origins is etymology. It's a truly fascinating area of work.
Etymology is one of the reasons I tend to ask people which version of the bible they're working from. It makes a significant difference - as when, and where, the translation was done makes a difference in the result.
If you're interested, google etymology or something like 'word origins' - lots of fun sites out there.
Thanx ehBeth. I think I'll look into it!

I found the original story. If you don't mind, I'm going to pm you, since I don't want it smeared by some of the stuff that passes through here...
Don't mind at all Snood. Thank you.
