Can You Make Me See Red?

Someone prove to me that what I see as being red is the exact color seen by anyone else.

This is red. Everyone says yes it is because we were all taught that it was so. But, do you see what I see?

It can be tested! Test away.

Setanta,

Why are you putting meaning to something that was not there? I am not equating the inability to see God with disabilities. Oh brother! Do you ever look for the positive in anything? Rolling Eyes

You can take comfort in the fact that not one other person lowered the conversation to this level.

Well then, you fail.
Your "evidence" isn't good enough.
Your "experience" does not affirm any existance for God for you or anyone.
Whereas there is a manifestation for light, there is none for God.

You may want to go back and read more than the last page.

JLN,

Neural... yes...but a secondary question concerns the implications, if such "experiences" can be "artificially" evoked. (see the link above)

You lowered the conversation to that level by choosing the attempted metaphor . . . it was your deicision to liken those who do not agree with your faith as having a lacuna equivalent to a disability . . . so, Intrepid's typically snotty snipe is not true at all . . .

The main thing was that Angel was using her earlier experience as "evidence" as stated earlier. It's not.

Guess you missed my post where I said that is not what I meant in any way, huh? No wait, or was it because that's what you think I mean and won't take my word for it? Rolling Eyes

Do some of you ever turn your brains down to idle or anything? How many times do I have to state that I was not trying to provide evidence of God or prove that God exists?

You are making this so much more complicated that it was intended to be.

That is absolutely correct--you may not have intentionally sought to liken the refusal of others to accept your belief set to a disability, but that is exactly how you see it and therefore you chose the metaphor.

You can poke someone in the eye, and then say you didn't mean it . . . but it won't "unpoke" them . . .

Your only seeing red because someone told you it was red and you accepted it as being so. Never did we say....prove it's red! lol
