Hi, my neighbour here died last night with a heart attack or failure. That

what I've known so far, but details will be available in a couple of days. I

don't care about details because old women are there!

Anyway, what I know about this person is that he drinks ( maybe a lot not

sure ) . He died away from home with his friends ( I think bad guys ) , he

had this heart trouble. Then, they took him to a nearest hospital where he

died immediately. Everybody says heart failure, though I didn't meet the

doctor myself. It was a rough night for us; sad, late, cold.

Why we go to something when we know it is bad for us ?!

Yes, consuming alcohol in large quantities rapidly can cause heart failure--usually, however, it is a slow and lingering death one suffers when alcohol is the cause. As for your final question, i cannot tell you why people are or become self-destructive.

Some years ago, I belonged to a gym. For some idiotic reason, there was a bar in the facility. A 48 year old guy had been drinking, and then went into the hottub. They carried him out!

There is some speculation that drinking may cause heart arrhythmias, which might precipitate death.

Hi Setanta, Hi Phoenix. His friend carried him to the hospital after death,

ofcourse in his car. The weird thing is that the man was heavy that at least

six people must be there to move him Rolling Eyes

Also, relative says that it's been few days since he quit drinking. I wonder

if a person could die with heart failure just like this, is this possible?!

What would be more dangerous, a cigarette or a glass of winy?

Depends on the quantity involved. Binge drinking can lead to death by alcohol poisoning, or even choking in one's own vomit.

In fact, while in the army, i saw a death with aspiration pneumonia (drowning) as a result of vomiting as the proximate cuase, which vomiting had been caused by drinking.

While working in civilian hospitals after the war, i saw two occasions of cariac arrest from alcohol toxicity. One guy was saved by the paramedics. The other poor bastard was found by the police when it was far too late.

A few random thoughts....

If you have a drink, even a moderate amount could impair your driving ability and die in an accident.

Likewise, your judgement could be impaired enough that you might do any number of things that could cause your death.

If you are, less say diabetic, alchohol would really mess up your insulin level.

If you drink, you are more likely to smoke.

Tobacco is the cause of any number of ways to die also, which we are all familiar with.

You would have to know the situation to be able to say which would be worse.
