I'm getting this as a tattoo and i don't want to end up with something other than what i thought it was or other than what i wanted. sadly i don't know any french speaking people so I'm going to have to trust you... "in the depths of winter i finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer" (albert camus)

Camus wrote in French. He was French-Algerian. The English phrase you quoted that starts "in the depths of winter..." is a translation by someone else from French into English.

Why bother translating this back into French, when you can use the original French that Camus wrote?

Au milieu de l'hiver, j'apprenais enfin qu'il y avait en moi un été invincible.

From Retour à Tipasa (Albert Camus, 1952)

Don't forget the accents on the word été !!!

Take my word, the English version you supplied is a good translation of the Camus original, although "au milieu de l'hiver" could equally well be translated as "in the middle of winter".
