Poor thing. I hope that they fix him up, and send him back to Florida. Don't think that the egret could stand the Pa, winters!

I know, Phoenix. They can put him in my pepper tree here, right along with the white ibises. Amazing, though, that the bird even survived.

Three cheers for the egret. Still, I'm betting that his plumage won't be fit for courting this year. The bedraggled plumes probably won't tempt poachers, either.
The kids in that family will have an easy "What I Did on My Summer Vacation" essay.

By the by, the story I read mentioned that the mechanic, a veteran in the Wildlife Meets Motor scheme of things slipped on heavy gloves before attempting the rescue.
The bird bit him anyway, nipping a bit of a hole in the thick leather.
I'm still on the bird's side.

ah, Noddy. My dear friend from Abuzz. I have missed our exchanges, and now I know why. Resisting the urge to say that birds of a feather flock together

Birds of a feather, flock together
And so do pigs and swine
The rats and mice all have a choice
And so shall I have mine....
Good to see you, Lettie. This has been a long, white winter.

Happy Easter, Noddy. I smiled at your poem. So I shall return one to you and all here.
A long white winter way up North.
A short one her in Florida.
So get your huskies
All hitched up,
And mush them down
The corridor.
