msolga,

Isn't the point of the title of a thread to draw people to the thread? Isn't it up to the reader to decide if they want to be part of what the original poster posts?

May I ask you, why did you come to this thread if you didn't like (not sure of the right word here) the premise of the thread? I am sincerely asking because I just don't understand why you would if you don't want to be engaged in religious discussions and prayer is obviously religious.

How DARE you try to decide who has the right to post on threads in ANY forum?

Why do YOU post on threads which propose ideas differing from yours, and attempt to promote your daft rapture and tell everyone who disagrees with you that you "hope" god will not send them to hell.

MA, your irrationality needs to be tempered with some degree of self knowledge.

Your post is nonsense.

Anon-voter,

Respectfully, if you do not want anyone discussing religion then perhaps you should petition A2K to rid itself of the Spirituality & Religion Forum.

You have the right to speak your mind. We have the same right. If either you or I do not like what is posted we can do one of a few things: challenge it, accept it, or ignore it. We all have the same rights here.

No, husker, & I speak solely for myself here: This influx of dubious religious zealots is decidely less than welcome here. A2K attempts to be an intelligent, rational discussion forum. This is not some convenient outlet for folk with interesting religious beliefs. Rolling Eyes I doubt they'll make too many converts here & for the rest of us, well ... it's tedious & sometimes offensive having the board jammed with this nonsense.

No offense, msolga, but wouldn't the thing to do be to ignore those you call zealots? Afterall, everyone has the same right to post on A2K, don't they? And in the Spirtuality & Religion Forum I think it would be rather logical and reasonable to assume that there will be religious folks posting here. I have been told by those not religious that I should expect them to post.

Yes.

We all have the same right to post.

And, if you don't want your idiocies challenged then go post somewhere where everyone believes as you do.

dlowan,

I am not complaining about these posts being challenged. I am merely asking msolga for clarification on why she seems to be upset about this.

Why are YOU upset?

MA

Actually I'm not upset. I just find these endless so-called religious posts tedious.

So to be truly Christian, are we soon to have a thread to pray for the souls of all the unfortunate Iraqis whose lives have been ruined, disrupted or thrown into havoc as a result of the invasion? Is that on the agenda?

You people are bringing on these negative feelings all on your own! I've always been tolerant of all faiths, but I'm starting to hate you so-called Christians with a passion. For starters, I doubt if any of you can agree on what a true Christian is !! Secondly, the more you force your "faith" into being law, the more I can't stand you. When you back a warmonger who is killing people for power and greed while he makes a fool of you, it doesn't speak well for your so-called moral structure. Keep up the good work boys and girls, pretty soon you'll have a tremendous backlash against your movement!!

I'm afraid I don't quite understand you thinking I dared anyone anything, dlowan. I just asked a question of msolga so I could understand better where she was coming from.

I don't promote anything, dlowan. I have over and over again said I don't ask anyone to accept or believe what I post. It's my opinion, my view, etc. The same as others.

I have not one time told anyone that if they don't believe what I believe they will go to hell and I honestly don't think I ever said I hope God doesn't send someone to hell.

I am very sorry you don't understand what I meant. I honestly don't see what I did to offend you. I am afraid you completely misunderstood what I posted to msolga.

There's a whole lot more to spirituality than the narrow Christian point of view!

You haven't responded to my post about the Pentagon killing and maiming soldiers due to lack of equipment, while all you people can do is "pray for them". Get a petition and pass it among all you holy people and see if you can't do some real good!!

Well, that's something, anyway, Intrepid. Me, I frevently wish this outrageous invasion hadn't happened in the first place. Do any of you, as Christians, have problems with the fact that it did?

You apparently mistake me for a fellow countryman. How could I possibly force my faith into being law? I take it that you mean your President when you speak of warmonger. Nothing to do with me. My moral structure is just fine. I didn't even know that I was in a movement. The only movement I participate in has to do with bowel.... nevermind.

You seem to make a lot of assumptions. Perhaps I feel that you are pushing your bigotry and prejudice down my throat.

Some of you guys sure use a wide brush and you all use the same paint.

You force it on me by virtue of making your faith law. Christians vote for people like DeLay who say all the right patriotic things and "praise the lord" while they are busy screwing the nation. I would love to be a fly on the wall and listen to them talk about you "faithful". They've got to be choking on the laughter!!

msolga,

Isn't the point of this thread to pray for the troops because they are where they are? Does getting angry and lashing out at each other help anything?

Not every Christian supports the war. Not every Christian supports Bush. The point is the troops are there. Until they are home, they need our prayers. That is the point.

Anon,

Again, we all have the exact same rights in voting. I understand your anger. But, unless you can show in the Constitution of the United States that we cannot consider our religious beliefs in deciding what to vote on we have that right. I am sorry you feel the way you do, but that is the law.

It's going to be how people treat you as they get tired of your pushing Theocracy as Law! It's got nothing about being a threat, it's about reaction to the Christian belief that their faith should be legislated!!
