How many prayers does it take to say what needs be said?
edgarblythe wrote:Didn't you read my post where I said it?
I was'nt sure if it was in jest or not. I apologize for not knowing your sincerity.

You have nothing to apologize for. I have reported this to the moderators.
Hopefully, something will be done soon.
MA, I am uncertain of the "authority" by which you are attempting to boss people around.
Traditionally, most people respect the wishes of the originator of a thread, if THEY express concern about a thread going off topic.
I do not believe you originated this thread, did you?
If you wish to influence people, I suggest that your tantrums will not be effective.
You might, if you wished, attempt to exert a quiet influence by posting in what you believe to have been the spirit of this thread, and ignoring what you consider to be off thread posts.
Or not.
Shrugs.
What the INTENDED purpose was, I do not think either you or I actually know...though we appear to have somewhat differing beliefs about it.
Speaking of the moderator of this thread, just what the hell happened to him/it/her. It did a disappearing act!!

Wishing our troops well doeesn't help much when this admnistration fails to provide our troops with proper equipment. Even praying to Mickey Mouse prolly won't help. You must learn to blame where the real responsibilities lie; this administration.
They started the war, and didn't provide the right equipment to our troops. That's what most people call "incompetent" except for righties that can't see the trees for the forest.

You can only do what you can. Maybe start a fund raiser for equipment. I think there are many groups doing this now.
Maybe we should get involved in any way we can other than just exchanging words. What do you think cicerone?
Doktor S wrote:Momma Angel wrote:Doktor S wrote:If not for all the 'praying' going on the war probably would have never gotten enough support to get off the ground. Praying for soldiers to return when it was praying that sent them to begin with seems laughably hypocritical.
I never prayed for the war to start. I don't know anyone who did.
I pray for our troops to return safely home as soon as possible.
Well, I was talking allegorically.
I am not saying it is prayer itself that is to blame, but the unwavering support of those that pray in a man that prays for his answers. A support that probably wouldn't exist if not for this common (though wholey unrelated to anything political) bond.
If one more person clumps me in with Bush, I'll scream.
Everyone wishes the troops well. We just don't need the pious mooning over it, the getting worked into a frenzy because not everyone reacts the way we want them to.

For those who turn their back on Him... you are probably right
You can't turn your back on something that isn't real.

Understood edgar. I'm not sure that everyone wishes them well...but I think most do.
Dear Lord, I pray for our troops.
Please bring them home.
I miss my cousin and hope he gets to see his baby born since he missed out on his first son.
Your will be done...
Amen.
Now I'm turning over this thread to do whatever you want with it. I'm going to a restful slumber. Night all.

then please do not post on this topic - or you are openly admitting you are being a disruptor
I will post here if I decide I want to.

Thanks!

I'm so glad God has much more patience than I do.
Lord, please remember I'm the other one's cousin. Keep him safe and bring him home to his family. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

We are spending over two billion dollars in Iraq every week. That money is sufficient to buy our troops proper equipment, but this congress would rather spend money for a bridge in Alaska that goes nowhere for millions of dollars, and give tax breaks to the wealthy. All this, while they take money from Abramoff. Do you know anything about "pork?" There's plenty of money to be spent if our government didn't waste it
You see, if our congress is willing to spend money to increase our national debt, some of us would rather see them spend it on our troops to keep them safe from harm.
Dear God ...
Our troops are still dying and you're still jacking around letting it happen. Is this any way to treat your faithful holy Christian soldiers. Knock it the hell off and do your job ... you're suppose to be on our side! Act like it!!
Maybe if we sing "Onward Christian Soldiers"!!
Thanks,

10 posts in an hour for something you don't even believe - I'd rather say you enjoy being like a festered sliver
