Praying is just wishful thinking, a con game in many respects, too. Amazing how badly the "religious" want to foist some on the non believers.

Praying is not wishful thinking to those who believe it. Praying is not a con game....well, maybe by some who only have getting your money as their agenda.

Nothing is being foisted on non believers by true believers. That is their choice and their right. If we choose to pray for anyone, that is our right. It is not like we are coming into your homes to do it. Unless you have some evidence to the contrary, you cannot say that prayer is wishful thinking.

msolga,

The title of this thread is pray for our troops. I am just sticking to the topic.

Please, everyone, can we just stick to the topic here? If you don't agree with praying, then fine, don't.

If you don't like what we are doing, fine, but please can we just stay on topic, just once.

The Iraqi people do need prayer. I hope their situation will improve as time goes on.

I pray for God's blessings upon you all as well.

I believe that the Iraqi people are much more in need of sane policies from external forces, Bartikus. Same as the Vietnamese people, many years ago. That would be far more right useful. Now, if religious folk would would pray for that ........!

I will. I will ask God to bring sanity to this land.

Well, Bartikus, I just hope God has voting rights ....

There you go again, MA. It's all about the US, isn't it?

Our troops need sanity too no?

Armed conflict has to weigh heavily on the hearts and minds of soldiers.

My grandfather served many years in WW2 came home weighing 75lbs at 6'2 with a back that was broken twice and caught malaria in Africa.

He came to his home and knocked on the door and was asked..."can I help you sir"

No one in the family even recognized him! He taught me much and was an atheist for years. He told me about friends of his who were in literal pieces spread around and yet still crying out to him for help.

The whole thing messed him up. Being an atheist he agreed to pray with his fallen friends while they lay in his arms. He did this because of the compassion he had for them.

Prayer is never meant as an insult....it is an act of compassion and caring.

If a person ever does offer to pray for another as an insult...God help them.

Dear God ... Please quit killing our troops. You're suppose to be on our side because we are holy Christians following Christs teachings to hate and kill our enemies. You're supposed to be killing those awful Islamic Arab bastards. Get off your ass and shape up!!

Thanks!

You can only say this because you don't believe God exists! Your counting on it.

You could never say these things to his face. Your face would be on the floor...in trembling.

Even those who don't believe in an almighty God....knows this to be true.

Ok, I am reporting this to the moderators. You have all been asked to kindly respect the topic of this thread.

There are plenty of threads about the war. There are plenty of threads about Bush. There are plenty of threads in which you can call Christians names, ect. This is supposed to be a thread for prayer for our troops. If you can't respect that, then I am sorry for you. The troops fight for the very thing you are doing. Freedom of speech. If you can't show them enough respect to respect this thread, well, then I think you do need prayer.

If you cannot have the respect that is supposed to be afforded everyone on A2K then I feel sorry for you. I respect your right to your opinions. But, you have all been asked more than once to please get back to the topic.

If hypothetically you were face to face with an almighty God.....do you think you would be ROFLYAO?

Your counting on this event to never occur as well. Right?

Absolutely, Bartikus.
They must be wondering, like those sent to Vietnam, exactly what on earth they're doing in this mess. By all means pray for them. Pray that they are out of there soon. They shouldn't be there at all. And while you're at it, pray for the totally innocent Iraqi victims of this fiasco. First, they had to cop Saddam (sp?) & now this!

That may be true but using such words in the presence of Mickey Mouse and in the presence of God....2 different things.

I'm not sure if a person would even be able to speak.

They should have never had to tolerate Saddam....which makes me wonder how else could Saddam have been removed? Maybe send in some interpol agents to arrest him?
