It's just that I have to keep reminding folk on this thread about the Iraqis! Seeing the US troops are in Iraq it seems perfectly natural to me to automatically include them in your posts & prayers, yes? Doesn't happen, then you wave this http://www.smileys.ws/smls/yahoo/00000042.gif while praying. The troops (hopefully) can eventually go home, but the Iraqis are stuck with the awful post-invasion mess of their country.

msolga,

Please do not think that I don't care about the Iraqis people. I do. If you want to start a thread to pray for them, I promise you I will be one of the very first to join and post a prayer.

I do not get into the politics of the war, msolga. Whether the war is right or not is not what I concern myself with right now. I support our troops. I am proud of them. I love them. I pray for them daily. But, as I said, I pray for everyone in the world.

All the arguing about the war right now will change nothing. It just upsets most people. Our President is in office until someone else is elected. Those are just the facts.

I hope you understand where I am coming from, msolga. I, in no way, wish to diminish the way you feel about the war or anything else for that matter.

erm ... I do think waving the flag is sort of getting involved in the politics of the war, MA! As I'm not a praying sort of person, I think it'd be nice if you stated a prayers for the Iraqis thread. That would be very even-handed! Very Happy

Our soldiers
Who art in Iraq
Harried be thy name
Give them this day, after years of fighting, adequate body armor
Instead of prayers
Lead us to peace
And get the hell out of Iraq

Shazaam!

There is not a person on earth who does'nt need prayer.

The Iraqi people do need prayer. I hope their situation will improve as time goes on.

I pray for God's blessings upon you all as well.

Are you using that as a noun or a intransitive verb?

God knows this is how you feel and will probably pass you over.

He will not impose on you knowing many will gladly accept.

I guess that's why the Bible says I should do the same. Thanks for reminding me.

Praying is just wishful thinking, a con game in many respects, too. Amazing how badly the "religious" want to foist some on the non believers.

I believe that the Iraqi people are much more in need of sane policies from external forces, Bartikus. Same as the Vietnamese people, many years ago. That would be far more right useful. Now, if religious folk would would pray for that ........!

Attack on Iraq Interior Ministry Kills 21
By JASON STRAZIUSO, Associated Press Writer

Monday, January 9, 2006

Quote:
The military statement came after a particularly deadly four-day period for Americans, with 28 killed since Thursday.

With the latest military deaths, at least 2,207 U.S. service members have died since the war started in 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

I don't think "GOD" is listening! Perhaps if you said "pretty please"??

Well...God might pass you over.

With God all things are possible! He might reveal himself to you.

May his will be done.
