A question about A2K & posters & possible multiple IDs.

RR- the other way around I've seen mods spying your private life using the techniques you cite.

I've seen nepotism also, I mean, mods favoring friends when they should take actions against them.

But you can not expect everybody to have high standards of ethics...

That's the way life goes...

Mods spying on one's private life, Francis? I don't quite understand what you mean by that.

I guess our president has set a trend. <sigh>

That's one nice thing about the A2K gatherings. We know who is who, and besides that, it's fun. <smile>

A thought: is there a reason why the TOS couldn't specify that one person = one account? Would this be too difficult to properly monitor, perhaps? But if it could be enforced it'd do wonders for the credibility of debate here.
.... Just my two bob's worth.

msolga- The only problem that I could foresee is when two or more people use the same computer, and ISP number. That could happen within a family, or even at a computer in a library, or dorm.

I am posting on Diane's computer as we speak, as myself of course. It would be a real effort on my part to mimic another poster's style; my own is so idiosyncratic as to stand alone in nuanced incomprehensibility.

Surely one of the reasons I keep attachment for a2k is the appreciation of character in different posters - I mostly value the complexity of our distinct differences and the way we interact. I am guessing that a lot of people feel this way, and that this shared sentiment functions to keep the fooling around with multiple identities to a modest level. Of course, this may be a pollyanna type view.

that's why I've threatened Set with a serious injury if he gets banned while he's at my place. he's posting from my computer and if he messes up MY A2K experience ... Twisted Evil

Never really gave this issue much thought (none at all really) until about a week ago a new poster (1st post) was a personal direct attack on me by name. Seemed odd to me that a 1st time poster would have developed such a distaste for me (experienced a2kers is easily understood)

Indeed.

I imagine it would be tough.

A new multiple here slipped up in its first couple of posts, which was very funny to see!
