I'm a high school student that plans on taking a college course at my community college but first I need to pass the assessment test. I didn't get placed in the class I wanted so I'm going to retake the test. The test has two parts: Reading Comprehension and Sentence Skills. Any tips on what I should study? Thanks Very Happy

kwazie, welcome to A2K. My advice to you is to read and then write a synopsis. I'm not certain that there is an approach to "studying" for reading other than that.

Good luck.

Unfortunately there are no short cuts to graceful literacy.

Read. Read. Read. This will improve your comprehension.

Write. Write. Write. This will improve your prose style.

Welcome to A2K--we're a great place to practice reading and writing.
