Progressivism, Skepticism, and Historical Revisionism: The Inalienable Right to Question History

t has been a truism for years, indeed centuries, that it is precisely in the case of horrendous ideas that the right of free expression must be most vigorously defended.” – Noam Chomsky

“The principle of free thought is not free thought for those who agree with us but freedom for the thought we hate.” – US Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes in United States v. Schwimmer

Look how much we are being lied to right now. Think this is a new phenomenon? Of course not. and because of the lies about Iraq, all history as taught in the state schools must be suspect. Prudence demands that we re-examine everything we have been taught about history for the fabrications which bitter experience tells us must be there.

I fail to see the connection. The people who are writing the history textbooks aren't the same ones who are peddling lies about Iraq. Why would the one be influenced by the other?

People who just know that something is there usually end up finding it, whether it was really there or not.
