Well, I fully expect this thread to go absolutely nowhere, as all the Bill Hicks threads do, but hey, the guy was a comedic genius, so f*ck it. Not many know who he was in the states, because he railed mercilessly, and without compromise against the hypocrisy of government and religion, especially in America.

He was smart, deep, passionate and very, very funny. Don't believe me? Well, Here's a linkto a typical Bill Hicks bit from sometime in late 1993, I believe. Decide for yourself. Not his most hilarious stuff, but it's pretty funny just the same, and I believe it gives one a good taste of what he was about. Plus, it's the only link I could find on the internet to a video clip of him. Heh.

Oh ****, that is the exact link I was going to post for this when I thought about this thread yesterday. I guess my brain wasn't working on all cylinders this morning when I did it. Lotta great quotes there...this is one of my favorites.

I remember the story where he was sitting in a Waffle House (shudder), reading a book, waiting for his meal, and the waitress came up to him and asked "Why are you reading'?"

Only looked at this because I used to know a guy named Hicks, anyway he had a brother named Bill but then again I suppose many people do.

That site used to have a whole bunch of great clips of his routines, but for the last few months, the stupid multimedia part of the site has been under construction.

They even had a clip of him doing the grey gym sock bit, which is one of the most disgustingly hilarious jokes I've ever heard. I'll go look for it later if I have a chance.

A friend of his said that when a bunch of them were underage they wanted to get into a porn movie.

Bill was the one to call, to get the times.

Then, he'd start asking question, like "So, what's this movie about? Yeah, I mean, what's the story line?"
