I find comments about spelling to be nothing more than a jab at the target. I spend too much time on a laptop and I am not the best typist in the world and therefore prone to typo's. I have learned to speak typoese and with little effort, most people can as well.

I usually make them more as a joke, fully aware that I too make errroors at times.

Agreed, McG. Nobody is submitting their posts for a grade, or asking to have their spelling critiqued.


But I'm thinking it may be difficult for a certain former teacher to overcome the urge to do so .... :wink:

Many English teachers, right on up to the university level, often focus on the most inane things to conceal the fact that they know very little about language and how it works.
