Boomer--

You're raising Mo--and he comes first.

Auntie T. isn't raising Mo--she's surviving and thriving in her own world. I may be a suspicious bitch, but I suspect a Good Woman would have called before the holidays if Mo were her prime motivation.

Meanwhile, she's given Mo a chance to make choices and have his choices honored. Given his baggage, this is a very valuable gift.

It is a valuable gift. No doubt about that.

His other families are beginning to realize that he has his own attitudes and opinions.

I completely agree - if Mo was the motivation (with both her and Mo's mom) the calls would not have centered around portraits.

There ain't nothing wrong with being a suspicious bitch when suspicion is warrented.

Oh yay!

I'm just checking in for the first time a long while, so glad you made it through the whole day without disruption (except of the Auntie T. variety, sounds minor-ish).

Yay!

When do we start holding our collective breath and crossing our fingers for Christmas?

Thank you all!

Yes it was a wonderful day. It felt very "family" for a holiday.

Christmas.

Bah humbug.

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. We do have Christmas gifts for Mo to distribute so we'll surely be making some kind of rounds at Christmastime.

So....how the hell near is the hope of legalizing stuff?

Or do we not dare tempt providence by mentioning it?

We were supposed to wait for a year plus without having heard from dad before contacting the attorney to get things started up again.

It has been right at 15 months since we've heard from him so we're getting close.

The money thing is umm.... difficult but we've been saving and saving for it and know we will come up with whatever it costs.

It'll all work out.

We're not poor and we're not extravagant so we'll be able to pay for it. If things get complicated it could get very expensive but I'm thinking it won't get too complicated.

Mr. B's new business is going gangbusters and they're finally getting to a point where they can pull money out.

It'll happen.

But I do so enjoy such hugs!
