Well, I was always taught that "the rock" was the message of Jesus, so, I never thought Peter was the first pope as I have heard it's been told. But, that's just my take on it.

Aside from that, though, the Church is a Covenant People, and such a People can only continue from age to age through transmission of the Covenant from one generation of that People to ecah new one. If the gates of Hades did not prevail, then it is through undying Transmission from elder to new Christian.

I'm not sure, if this really is true.

But if this is so, they of course deny their heathen heritage as well - like the Christmas and Easter background, the God mother etc.

Of course, the Golden Calf was actually the original god named El. The montheism came from the Persians with their Zoroastrianism. Pharisee comes from Farsi (the language) or Parsee (the people). The present day Parsees live in India driven out by Islam from Persia. Persis Khambatta (the bald actress in Star Trek) was a Parsee.

Gabble, gabbble, gabble . . . generations are not discreet entities--they are far messier than that. It is necessary for you to indoctrinate each child in the delusion individually, and hope that they remain sufficiently confused and ignorant for a lifetime to continue to buy the dog and pony show that is christianity . . .

Dok, exactly.
Walter, I'm referring to the ethnic identity of Jesus and Saul. Both Jews.

Wow, Set, I just read your signature line.

"...people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders...tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

-- Herman Goering"

That's heavy dude. I hope you have posted it on many political threads.

Yeah, JLN, i tacked that on after posting it in a political thread . . . although it's about time to change my sig line again . . .

Not surprisingly, many conservatives claim the quote is apocryphal. For the refutation of that claim, and the full context of the quote, see the Snopes page on this quote.
