Why do protestants deny their catholic heritage?

I'll cheerfully admit there was corruption in catholic church history; it was to some extent a way of life and as a power, the church was at least in some part responsible and probably, to me, more than some part.

Me, I am outta here in that my interest in the catholic church now is functional - what it had to do with how places ended up, places being vast amounts of land, or divisions of cities, all that being complex enough for me.

It's just nice someone can say it. And, baffling that anyone can't.

All religions not one's own religion are heretical, and all adherants thereunto are scurrilous, damned-forever, libelous prevaricators, intent on denigrating the one true church (one's own, remember) their proselytizing nought but lies and slanders crafted to dupe the unwary into enriching the coffers of their abomination psuedo-churches. There is but one true church, I tell ya, and the rest of ya not only can, but will go straight to hell if you don't wise up, abandon your pathetic heresies, and submit to the truly revealed, authentic Word of God. Oh, yeah, and you oughtta send in money, too ... the more the better. God bless you all. Except you stubborn, unrepentant heretics

There's plenty of heresy to go around.

Jo, as it happens. Should we all meet, I'd be glad to do the first round, booze, beers, or sodas, assuming my Visa lives.
