May I suggest to all Yankees that may be driving down I-95 to Florida that it is a 45 minute detour off 95 to Bear country? It would make a lovely rest stop.

As an Orlando area resident, I can make it to any event(s) in or around Cocoa Beach....so I will be monitering this thread for details and keeping my calendar open. (Even though I am merely a humble near-enthusiast).
Has anyone poked O'Bill in the ear about this?
Is this the same time period as the west coast get-together?
I think it's a week later than the S.F. gathering, ehbeth, but I wouldn't swear on it!
About O'Bill-- I read in one thread that he doesn't like groups and their meeting, so who would I be to offend him by invitátion, but of course, he's more than welcome!! W.P.B is about 2 hrs away from Cocoa beach.

Thank you ehBeth and BigD for thinking of me, and phoenix for the PM. I can't say for sure that I'll be in the States at that time, but barring a scheduling conflict, I'd love to attend. BigD, refresh my memory; I don't recall saying I didn't like groups and meetings and I suspect you may have misunderstood something I said. I'm quite fascinated by the idea of meeting a "virtual group" in person. This is the first such discussion group I've ever participated in. I'll be able to give you a more definite answer as the date draws nearer. I don't have time to read the entire thread right now, but will later. Can anyone sum up what's known for sure at this time?

Well, very easy to sum up. BigDice and I will be in the Cocoa Beach area from April 13 to April 25. We did not yet make any plans. Everybody is welcome to join.
And we would love to meet you!
And I'd like to remind everyone that I'm no longer in the hotel biz. April is high season for this area. Whatever I can do to help though, just ask.
There's bit of reality for us...I suppose it would help for us to know what motel Urs and Bigdice will be at. Rae, once we have that information, you might be able to tell us what motels would be more apt to give us more bang for the buck... Off main road motels with reasonable rates and available rooms...
