Will someone tell me the meaning of Al-Ghad in English, I am translating it for a magazine. And also the meaning of al, do we need to translate this also together with the rest of the name? for instance, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Al-Ghad = Tommorrow

'al' means 'the', so a more literal translation of 'al-ghad' would be 'the morrow'. In respects to using 'al' in translations; i would say this depends on the context. 'al' can either mean 'the' or 'of'.

So the odious Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi translated to:

Musab's Father the Zarqawian
or
Musab's father from Zarqawa

hope this helps.

Thank you very much, my unknown friend. I use it in my translation which I must hand in tomorrow. Your prompt help came just in time.
