Official A2K Gathering in Chicago, May 7th, 2006!

Please add me to the list of folks meeting at the Duke of Perth on Friday and at the right lion at 10am at the Art Institute on Saturday morning. I'm not sure about lunch Saturday yet...

Have we talked about an activity for Saturday night yet?

Now set in stone: At the very least, O'bill, Walter, Brooklyn, C.I., RJB, Thomas, Hephzibah, Mac11 and Joe will be at Duke of Perth at 6:30 on Friday, May 5th! We'll be enjoying a Fish Fry and drinks. All are welcome. Did I miss anyone?

I will meet you guys at Duke Of Perth but might be a bit late, I usually work late on Fridays.

The 1 to 5 core meeting on Sunday and Bloody Marys (or the non alcoholic equivalant of) for anyone who wants to help set up from noon to 1 sounds good to me.

Fish fry? Sheesh, I guess we can tell who's from Wisconsin here. It's all-you-can-eat fish and chips (think cod, not perch; ocean, not lake; Scotland, not the Legion Hall in Manitowoc).

I'm not messing around with that facts thread... too intimidating! You can do it on my behalf. I can likely get out of any other obligations that I might have, and I'll plan on being in town that weekend. So, that means I am quite available. Assuming I don't flake out.

And just a heads up: till September, the Dan Ryan is running at only 6 of its usual 12 lanes thanks to a big construction project. Plan accordingly! More info: click, click, click.

I am also one of the locals mentioned in JB's list. I will be at work on that Thursday and Friday. After work Friday I would love to go to Duke of Perth but my wife does not like me coming home late from work. The Sunday afternoon gathering hosted by Sublime is my best chance to meet everybody.

By the way, Sublime, JB, and Joe are the locals who are working the hardest on this. I am very grateful to them. Occom Bill is doing a lot of work and he is almost a local. (Wisconsin is an important suburb of Chicago.)

I've mentioned this before, but now that people are starting to firm up their travel plans it's probably a good time to mention it again: if anyone is interested in going to Second City, we should start making plans. It may be too late to book a group for a weekend show at the main stage, but waiting in line is always an option. I mention this only because Second City is often at the top of the list of things that visitors to Chicago want to see: there are plenty of other entertainment options available.

To be honest I never heard of it, but their website looks seductive. I'm not sure if I'd go alone, but if other people are interested too, I'm with them.
