hephzibah, have you seen this thread?

It's the best place to go for updates on what is actually happening.
While I've largely given up on any attempt to herd this particular group of cats, I'll put in my token request to not bookmark that thread, so it will STAY as mean and lean and factual as possible.
The link to it is in the first post of THIS thread, if you need to find it again. It was made just for people like you -- the ones who are interested but don't want to wade through 137 pages of this'n'that to get to the important stuff.
Yes, I've seen it, and was even given a link to it several pages ago, but I couldn't remember which page the link was on, or what forum the thread was in because I forgot to book mark it. So thank you! Thank you very much! I have book marked it finally! Whew...
Precisely what she just asked you not to do.
Welcome, Hepizibah. We look forward to having you join us in Chicago in May. Believe it or not, the planning for this is coming together. Please watch this thread and the "Just the Facts' thread for more details.
Actually, O'Bill, I think she was good -- when I said "bookmark", what I meant was "please don't post the word 'bookmark' on that thread or otherwise post chat just for the purpose of being able to find the thread more easily later..."
Since hephzibah hasn't posted on that thread, I think by "bookmark" she meant that she actually bookmarked the url. (As in, saved it on her own computer under "Bookmarks.")
Thanks! (That goes to both of you, O'Bill for being helpful and hephzibah for honoring the request..)

Ok, I'm lost... forgive me here. What's the difference if I book mark it or not, as long as I don't talk in it? Which I have no intentions of doing by the way...
My bad. I didn't even look. Hep, people tend to post: "BM" on a thread so it comes up in their "Your Posts" searches, which is usually just fine. With the amount of interested parties on this thread; that could mean dozens of "BM" posts to scroll through on that one. My apologies for my misunderstanding.
Are you meeting us at the Duke for dinner and cocktails?
No problem Bill... it's all good.

Actually I would love to meet you all for dinner and cocktails.

I just need to figure out where everything is. My brother lives in Chicago... but I think it's on the outskirts... So I'll have to figure out where everything is in to relation of where I'm coming from!
Public transportation is pretty good in Chicago. I made a hard copy of the public transportation system in Chicago on the web to take with me.
Cool CI. I will probably be renting a car because I'm actually flying into my home town in MI on the 30th and staying there until things start happening in Chicago. This is going to be so much fun. Though... I'm a little nervous... Am I the only one?
No, not really: I'm a bit concerned getting my flight connection in Munich on Thursday morning
heph, All your anxiety will disappear once you meet everybody. I promise.

Hep, while I've never met a single soul from A2K; I've gotten to know many of these folks well enough that I'd require neither Avatar nor Moniker to identify them by their posts. We are going to be meeting not only some of the best A2K has to offer, but likely some of the best people I've ever known. Worry not... this is something to look forward to!
Hello there Billy boy.
Last night's evening meal, prepared by me of course, was an unusual mix of savoury mince (ground beef to you), steamed cauliflower as the main vegetable, and dry-fried red and green peppers with mushrooms and balsamico.
Once things get a bit closer I'm going to post a list of who's in town what day and then we can also start a post of planned get togethers for those who want to hook up. I'll do it on the other thread. So far we know about the gathering on Friday night and a possible group at the Art Institute on Saturday. They'll be more gathering and alternatives as we get closer.

You should be. Munich locals have no mercy for a stranded Prussian such as yourself.

I do not understand why Walter is not using the airport at Dusseldorf. Isn't that closer to where he lives?
<smooches to joeinchicago too for his de-lovely summary post on "Just the Facts"...>
