Maybe the two of you (joe and bill) can get together and coordinate a contact point for the visiting A2Kers???

If he gets into Chicago on Friday, then we can meet at Duke of Perth for the all-you-can-eat fish-and-chips. And then he can buy me the beer he promised me. Drunk Hell, we can all meet there and then go to B.L.U.E.S. or Kingston Mines afterwards.

Count me in for that also, I was at Kingston Mines for my 30th and from what I remember it was a great time.

Hephzibah, you might want to keep an eye on this thread for any updates and such.

Wow, talk about a plan just coming together. Glad to see that it has changed RJB from a no to a possible yes.

I'd suggest getting together at Duke of Perth around 6:30 p.m. Any later and it will get pretty crowded, and it might take as much as a half hour to get a table big enough to accomodate everyone (it's a somewhat intimate place -- I doubt if the outdoor beergarden will be open, although it might be). Service, however, is pretty swift, especially on Fridays when everybody orders the same thing. I don't know if O'Bill will be in town by 6:30. Anyone else coming in on Friday?

It's a long walk or a short cab ride to the blues clubs. They don't even open their doors until 8:00 -- they're the kind of places that don't get really hopping until 11:00 and then don't stop until 4:00 a.m. I would imagine that some of us old folks won't stick around until last call.

I'm a senior's senior, so I'll be saying my "adios" pretty early.

I don't know if I will be there Thursday or Friday. I'm thinking about driving. I love road trips. Though I found round trip tickets online today for $222. Two hours flying... or 14 hours driving... LOL I just don't know what to do!

6:30 it is. If I go through my rush first; I'm not there until at least 12:00 a.m. and that invites too many scenarios where I'd have to cancel my trip all together. No way.

Now set in stone: At the very least, O'bill and Joe will be at Duke of Perth at 6:30 on Friday, May 5th. I can't tell you all how much I'm looking forward to this!

How 'bout the "Just the Facts" thread? That's why I made it. :-) Plan various things here, and as they get solidified, plonk 'em there. So people don't have to go through 119 pages to find 'em. Shocked (Link to it on the first page of this thread, I think.)

Wouldn't miss it! Never been to the Duke of Perth, so I looked it up. Awesome lookin' place! I'm sure I've been past it, as a trip to Chicago usually finds me paying a visit to Mambo's before going home. And though a distance apart - they are both on the same street, it seems.

As for me, I'll be arriving in Chicago shortly after lunch on Friday, the 5th. Will be staying with friends on North California Avenue. (At least to start out with.)

Will be in full let my hair down mode, and just about ready for anything. It will be good to get away from work for a few!!!

Walter knows how to hurt a guy; he left me out as a no-show to the Duke of Perth.

Re: J_B's excellent suggestion on "just the facts", maybe everyone can list that info here, and then it can be collected and put into a single post on the "just the facts" thread? Again going for ease of navigation (to the important information). Just an idea, though, I think either would be fine.

Early enough that I could delete my post there on the other thread

Arriving on Thursday 14:00h (that's 2 pm, landing at the airport), leaving (from the airport) Monday by 12:00 o'clock. Staying at the Essex Inn.

Anyone want to join Walter and I on the trolley tour?

if it's on saturday, i might, if it stops at the Field Museum or the Art Institute, the 2 places i'm determined to get to.

Duke of Perth sounds fun, but my plane lands 7:15pm on Fri, so unlikely i'll run into anybody there.
