Tangent ---
I didn't write a diary for the Chicago trip, but I did one for my New York trip back in '03. Warning, it is idiosycratically detailed and potentially quite annoying.
But, hey, that's me.

If anyone is interested in this: samsonite sends me a new lock.

NB: instead of creating a new own thread, I'll post my photos from the tour through the NM and Colorado at dys' thread here.

I'm posting some Black % White photos here.

Some of them are even in my eyes not too bad.

Since I was so pleased to meet you all, since I really nearly fell in love with ... both Chicago and Albuquerque/New Mexico, I do think, I have to thank all of you with ... well, with some photos, if you like.

So, I'm offering to send one/some Black 6 White, if you want, as a print.
(Otherwise, I could email some huuuuuuge files of the scanned pics.)

No obligation, no subscription, no postage - absolutely free of charge.

I'm looking through my photos now and (now and then) trying to order/store them - found (and still find) a couple worth (I think) to be posted (on my thread) ... and here's the 'Duke' from the street site

Fish and chips or "fish fry" (if you are from Wisconsin). Smile

If you walk past the building in shadow at left, and go down the stairs, there is a Popeye's Chicken.

I love Popeye's Chicken and red beans and rice. Best deal on the magnificent mile.

Hi Walter, Those buildings on Race Street are so diverse, anybody with any appreciation for architecture would be pleased! Don't forget, Joe calls it "stuffed" pizza. Wink

Harry Ramsden would be mortified;

All the way to Chicago for what looks like two battered turds, one chip if that is an excuse for a chip, a can of processed peas,(no self respecting chippy would dare to serve anything but 'mushies') slice of lemon and a plastic bowl of sauce.

I am totally at a loss in seeing how anybody would have the audacity to not only photograph such a pathetic sight, but to place it on public display is tan-ta-mount to treason.

Now get a hold of yourself Mathos. It's not that the English are known
for their culinary delights either.
