Thanks, Satt, that's useful for putting buildings in place in the river surrounds.

Satt, y'know, in the long run, I have no clue if abstract is primary or secondary. I guess I am an inbetweener, in that I am emotional about various buildings, am interested in their structures, and also like, after catching my visual breath, the abstract google image.

(This is off topic, but..)
Here is a Google image of a headstream of the Rhine (abstract).
But it doesn't show if the location is full of field mustards (concrete).

I'll start separated threads about my impressions of Chicago and New Mexico (Colorado) as well as Albuquerque later this week in the 'Travel' cathegory.
Great pics! Do me a favor and PM me links to the threads you start, else I'll likely miss them.

View of the Richard Daley Center with Picasso sculture out front. That sculpture was controversial back at the time it was installed.. or at least I remember it as being controversial. Looks great to me...

That's not the Daley Center, Osso, and
That sculpture isn't by Picasso. It's
The plaza at the main post office and
The sculpture is a Calder stabile known
(I think) as the "Flamingo" (here's a link).

Taking a picture of Walter taking a picture is very common; he has a camera in front of his face about 60-percent of the time. Wink

Walter has one brown eye and one red one which has a mind of its own: (not many people know this but) that's why he likes to hold the camera up- in front of the red one. It's an old teutonic grooming trick, apparently. Effective, no?

Hi! ....to the Chicago gang
Thanks to Everyone for a really nice gathering!!

This is new territory for me so I feel a little odd, but definately wanted to say Hi.

JB you were amazing as a hostess and I really appreciated it.
Chicago was beautiful ...... tulips, the pubic green shore areas!, the water, the arts,...and the People.
I fell a bit 'under the weather' that Saturday nite and Sunday, so apoligize for being 'sluggish' on Sunday. Never the less, I had fun and enjoyed meeting everyone.
Sublime the same to you as a host and thanks for sharing your great veiws.
Honestly thanks to everyone for including me as I learned the meaning of 'pm's and threads'. Smile
Hi! Eva and Mac.

It is good to hear from you (Mrs. Yitwail). I had been afraid that A2Ker's would make you nervous.

Thanks, Joe!
Weird. I remember thinking that was a Calder when I took the photo, but remembered about the Picasso sculpture. Looked Picasso up in my handy book, saw a photo only of the building, which looked similar to my un-intense gaze.

Were any of those Picasso photos taken by you, Osso?

From the side view of the sculpture, you can see that it is an abstract representation of a woman.

A Chicago reporter asked Picasso himself about this. Picasso replied "Of course it's a woman!"
