Hello,

Which of these sentences is/are correct?

When something approaches them, snakes feel the arrival of the thing -

1. with the vibration of the ground.
3. with the vibration on the ground.
2. from the vibration of the ground.
4. from the vibration on the ground.

of those choices, 2. I'd probably phrase the whole thing differently.

agree with sozobe about choice 2 & rephrasing.

here's one way to rephrase it:

When something approaches it, a snake senses its arrival from the vibration of the ground.
