Here is some more information from DVD Times:
Quote:
Depending on your source Il Mare's original Korean title, Si Wall Ae, apparently translates directly as "Love Across Time", and that simple idea is the perfect description of the film. However, the IMDB doesn't list the film under this title so whether it's true or not is another question entirely. Set concurrently in 1998 and 2000, Il Mare tells the story of a love that grows between two people who live in a seaside house two years apart. Communicating, mysteriously, only through letters that appear to be moving between both time periods, Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Jung-Jae play two young single Korean people who have never met yet fall in love.

If you are lucky enough to get the DVD of this Korean film, I will guarantee that you will fall in love with the actress.

If there is one really good reason to watch "My Sassy Girl", it would have to be Jun Ji-hyun's turn as the film's unnamed heroine.

That is the same actress from the romantic drama I was talking about! (Si Wall Ae)

I've seen one Korean film. I can't remember what it was called, but it's relatively recent. It's about what seems to be a crazy man who thinks earth is being threatened by aliens and he tortures some rich guy because he thinks he's an alien. Anyway, I won't spoil the ending. Very odd little movie, but I liked it.

It's "Jigureul jikyeora!" or "Save The Green Planet!", out in 2003

SAVE THE GREEN PLANET

If anybody wants to find out just what the hype concerning Korean movies is all about, this is the place to go.It's a two hour mind trip that will delight film-goers looking for a unique experience. It's a credit to Korean film-making incorporating a hybrid of multiple styles. It's blend of drama, comedy, police detective story and science fiction gives us a breathtaking film, full of originality.
If I had to find comparisons,I would say Terry Gilliam's Brazil,Twelve Monkeys or The Fisher King.
As you can tell,I loved this film.My next Korean film on order is My Sassy Girl.
