"Consumer Driven Health Plans"???

What do you know about these?

My husband's company is giving us this option, or we can stay with the existing PPO.

Apparently this kind of plan was introduced at the end of 2003, so it's been around for a little while. From what we can tell, you put $$ into a special account which is then invested in mutual funds. Then you're responsible for paying all of your medical bills but get insurance discounts.

Does anyone know anything? Would appreciate some info.
