UN: Up to 1,000 massacred in DRC
Posted: Sunday, April 6, 12:45pm EDT
UN investigators have been told that 966 civilians were massacred by tribal militias with machetes and guns last Thursday and buried in mass graves in the northeast of Democratic Republic of Congo. "The investigating team heard that 966 people were massacred. They identified 20 mass graves and visited 49 seriously injured people in hospitals," s spokesman for the UN mission in Congo (MONUC), Hamadoun Toure, said in Kinshasa. Witnesses said the massacre happened early on Thursday when attackers descended on the town of Drodro and 14 neighbouring villages near Bunia, the capital of Ituri District, which lies some 50 miles from the border with Uganda.
The UN has investigated, affirmed the massacre and will do just exactly what they always do nothing. Where is the worldwide moral indignation and outrage? What happened to the media are they deaf and blind. Actions such as this seem to be the norm on the African continent and have been for many years. Yet I have never seen or heard a call from the UN to the member nations form a coalition to combat it. Why do you suppose that is?
Good question au1929 and the answer my friend is apathy and the usual contempt for Africa.
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Good question. I'd like to know the answer myself!
Probbaly because Africa is of no strategic importance to the western world.
