Hi everybody,

- Could somebody clarify the meaning of these words in one sentence, I'm not pretty sure of this,

Mumble, murmur, splutter, and mutter

-What is the best way to say this?

A decadent / overripe family relationship.

-There is a difference between tsar and Kaiser, right?

-Can I use buccaneer instead of adventuresome or an adventurous to describe a person?

Thanks Smile

(1) To mumble is to speak indistinctly; to murmur is to speak in a low, almost inaudible voice; to splutter is to speak in an incoherent, excited manner; to mutter is almost the same as 'mumble' but usually the speaker is 'muttering' to him/herself, whereas the 'mumbler' might be trying to speak to someone else.

(2) That's not so eacy. The refernce is to a family relationship which is very inbred. Someone else may have a btter explanation.

(3) The only difference betwen 'tsar' and 'Kaiser' is that one is Russian, the other German. Both refer to an emperor and both words are derived from the Roman emperor Caesar.

(4) A buccaneer, properly speaking, is a pirate. An adverturous person would not be a buccaneer unless he/she were in the habit of taking something by force.
