He's supposed to come to the west coast, but I'm giving up hope.

From yesterday's Tribune --

Quote:
The southbound lane reduction will be from Lake-Cook to Old Orchard Road; south of Old Orchard, three lanes will remain open.

Initial plans to also shut the center lane in each direction this weekend have been postponed as crews prepare to patch cracks in more than 200 locations, officials said.

Starting Monday morning, one lane will remain closed during rush periods and daytime hours.

IDOT warns drivers to expect delays.

The plan through early November is to close up to two lanes from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sundays through Thursdays. Two lanes will also be closed from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, according to IDOT.

There is no way I'll be driving downtown between now and November 4th. I'll plan on taking the 10:26 inbound which arrives around 11:20 and then walk to wherever we're meeting from there.

For outbound trains: just ask c.i. and/or me, since we've specialised in that!

It still bothers me that there are two different trains leaving at the same time for the same towns up north. The least they can do is change the time for one of the trains.

Well, wandel, than ask them to start some classes for conductors as well: 'How to read a timetable/ How to read my train's timetable' ...

Not yet. The group that I'm in will be allocating the tickets today.

Re. the Cubs:

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

And I've heard enough of, "Don't worry. The Brewers have a young team." It doesn't help.

There, there, dear. The Cubbies have waited a long time for this. (Please don't cut me.)

Watch it. I've fashioned a crude knife out of a shattered fifth of Southern Comfort.

Have I mentioned how handsome you look today, sir? How thoughtless of me.

I'm thinking about trying to get together for lunch next Wednesday (10/10). Is anyone familiar with Goodwin's? JW, is 175 N. Franklin too far for you? Here's the menu (pdf). I called and they have tables for eating in, not just take out. joe and I were at So. Water Kitchen not too long ago, but if that works for everyone it's fine with me. I'm trying to find a place that's close to the river to make it fairly equidistant for everyone working downtown. Sublime will probably drive over and I'll be taking the train so we're much more flexible.

Alternative choices are always encouraged!

I like the menu at Goodwin's. It would be possible for me to walk there. I will go along with whatever the others decide.
