Thanks for the Munich Oktoberfest link, Walter. Is the Pope still there? Have they increased security?

I'd like to move the discussion to next weekend's plans to this thread so that we can all talk to each other without sending triplicate PMs.

Mr B and I plan on having dinner HERE ~ it is October, after all. It's about 10 blocks north of Martyrs on Lincoln. We hope you'll join us for dinner or we can meet you later at Martyrs, whichever works best for each of you.

The music starts at 10:00 (the first person that tells me that's past their bedtime gets shot) and, at this point, we still have an extra ticket. We plan on getting to Martyrs early enough to get a table, probably by 9:00, which means I'll need to be downtown for dinner around (????) 7:00 - 7:30.

Let me know if you're interested in dinner and I'll make reservations.

I'm definitely up for a trip to the Brauhaus.

I just got a call from JPB: she'll be offline for the next 1-3 days because of a power outage and assorted other collateral damage in her neck of the woods. So for those who are planning on joining us this Friday, you can contact her at her cell phone number.

Have a Westfälisches Schinkenbrot (Smoked westphalian ham served open face on rye) with a Warsteiner Pils on me

I was going to go with something more traditional, like Jalepeno poppers and Schlitz...

I hope I can get off early enough to make it to dinner, I haven't had Leberknodel soup since I was in Austria.

Gargamel will meet us at Martyrs.

The power is on (22 hours without), the tree is off the roof, but I desperately need to find a roofer. Our phone service has been spotty so, even with power, my internet access is iffy.

Sublime, I'll assume you can make it for dinner and try to get a reservation for 7:00.

Walter, I know you've become a Sonny Landreth fan and we still have one ticket available? How does dinner at the Brauhaus followed by an evening with Sonny in a small club sound?

Put on your thinking caps for Friday's dinner plans. The Brauhaus is booked for Friday and will only be taking first come first serve seating at this point. They said the best chance of getting a table is "before 6:00 or after 8:30" and if we come early we will be asked to give up our table for those with reservations when we're fininshed eating.

Any other ideas?

Hoping, none of you got any damages ...

... and you'll enjoy the evening even without German delicatessen as refreshment!

There is a large McDonald's, just northwest of the Brauhaus. You can't miss it!

We could go to Resi's Bier Stube, I have always just went in. I am not sure if reservations are needed or even accepted. The link tells it all, not glamorous but it is great food and an authentic atmosphere.

There's no answer but they're probably busy with a lunch crowd. I'll try again in a while.

I've never been to this place, but Glunz Bavarian Haus is also on Lincoln (and it's closer to Martyrs). And it even has Leberknodelsuppe for Sublime.

Never been there either, sounds good to me. I'm starting to get hungry.
