ae, the images by Twombly that you posted look like PIECES or PARTS of the paintings that I saw at MOMA, not the complete work....except for the top 2 with off white backgrounds, which bear NO resemblance at all. However, it is difficult to judge a painting on any part of it, no matter how well done it may be.

This is happening, GS, I think, because you push submit more than once... (guessing).

A2k (known to me sometimes as awk, though fondly) has been tricky lately as I am guessing the load is heavy for the server or servers - don't ask me what a server is, something like a transmission station - and what often takes us mere seconds can be slow or not get through. By the way, when I see that happening I copy my response just to preserve the pearls. So... when a post looks like it's not actually posting, instead of clicking submit again, copy it.

ossobuco, just goes to show one how submissive an ego can be...I didn't think I clicked on "submit" that often...
How DO you post images within the verbal discussion? Hints from anyone appreciated.

Well, it's titled Cav. Still looking for it, back, as I said, in a minute. Or maybe two.

Ok, here it is. Letty had trouble and needed to hear directions broken down, and it turns out that that has been useful for others..

so click on this..

Letty can now post photos, though there are more complications to be faced.. check the later pages in the thread for more breakdown of How, though there are instructions throughout.

I was showing an artist in my gallery in Newport Beach similar to Twombly. Here's a well know Twombly image:

and one of Jeanette Debonne's images:

lightwizard...thatWAS an amazing likeness between
your artist Debonne and Twombly.I am sure you saw the difference in temperament, if not in style or symbol...Debonne is deeper, less lyrical, seems to possess a deeper layer of sadness...
The piece you showed of Twombly was from one of the paintings I saw at MOMA. Those paintings were immense, about 12 x 6 feet approximately, each of the 4.

Her images incorporate a portal and I always interpreted the images as looking through an opening of an archaeological digging. Spirits of the past? Glyphs of an unknown and extinct race? The red seems to represent blood. The canvas I own is entitled "Ash Wednesday." I guess perhaps I should open another gallery of my own.

Cy Twombly has died. Rest in Peace.
