Don't slam the door behind you.
I confess, I've used that one before.
That's as timeless as:

Sequins and Mascara
There is a ground roots movement with Stephen Farmer's column joining in the NYT calendar of movie critics who are not happy with AMPAS. Maybe they should shift around the letters to spell
ASSAMP.
BTW, here's the panel at AFI which did include "Crash" in the top ten films awarded at the AFI ceremony, and, of course also "Brokeback Mountain."

Kenneth Turan was the LA Times film critic who lambasted the Academy for picking "Crash" over "Brokeback." It is still politics that, if you are a member, "Brokeback" is number one.
Hi, happytaffy. Yes, it was indeed. As I told Mr. Wizard, I haven't seen Brokeback Mountain, but I still believe that Crash won honestly.
Yes, there is such a thing as an honest mistake.

Ah, Mr. Wizard. Come on; admit it; You're disappointed that Brokeback didn't win, right?

So that's your latent bias surfacing. Actually, buddy, I think now that I will have to watch that cowboy movie, and if it makes me cry, I'm sending you a bill for the paper hankies.
It was very, very close and the practice of distributing the awards around so each film is honored has happened before. I don't believe there would have been as many people dissapointed if "Crash" hadn't won. You'll be able to see "Brokeback" on DVD in a few days. "King Kong" also got three Oscars.
