How do you pronounce "xi"?
Infrablue, I have a confession to make. I thought about your word abit more after my post and I think that it is not "xi" (which is pronounced similar to "she" but the "sh" part is pronounced with the teeth pressed together very tightly)...
but probably "
shou" - meaning long life, big life. It is used when celebrating elderly people's birthdays - we use this word to wish them a long life. To pronounce shou - "sho" but with the tongue curled up abit... you probably have to actually see and hear someone say these words to be able to pronounce them properly...
Sorry about that mistake.
