Gov. Blanco is neither one-eyed nor a man, and I seriously doubt that she has the grit of a Rooster Cogburn, but the toughness of her talk does ring a bit hollow.
By not mobilizing the National Guard and State Police more quickly, she is, in part, to blame for the sad state of lawlessness in New Orleans.
Having said this, I hope that she is right.
When did we stop shooting looters on sight?
