I loved 'Shakespeare in Love', too, Booman!
Yes, Gwyneth did play in drag.....if you can call it that for the time period the movie was set in.
I guess you could call "Shakespeare in Love" a romantic comedy and in non-comedies, Linda Hunt was in male drag in "The Year of Living Dangerously."
I suppose Mary Martin, only did it on stage and screen, right?
Merry Christmas to you as well, Booman!
Producers, La Cage au Faux (French version), "Make 'Em Laugh" Donald O'Connor-Singing in the Rain, Young Frankenstein, My Big Fat Greek Wedding(I'm Greek)

BUT
The funniest thing (I know, it's not a 'film') I have ever seen in my entire life is Robin Williams' new video/DVD "Live on Broadway 2002". It is non-stop, gut-splitting, hilarious, brilliant.
Today, in the world of comedy, there is Robin Williams, and there is everyone else.
