it was a smegging big pong indeed! We privatised the water - so it costs way more, and they neglected basic maintenance, llied about it, and had to bring back all the people they sacked to fix it!

We then privatised the electricity - and are, in ONE year - paying 25% more for that!

we privatised forster care - and the system is now so appalling and dangerous that the governmentis probably gonna have to resume it.

But- ask Melbourne - they privatised the public transport - and, after losing money and causing major problems to the system, they have walked out- after having bought multi-million dollars worth of rolling stock - in THE WRONG GUAGE!

But

Sydney for me is mostly the Harbour and the bridges, and ferries, and wonderful buildings of Sydney sandstone, built in the 19th century, which seem to cling on to their existence in a forest of ugly modern monstrosities. And food, and the Opera House, and.......

Flying into Sydney is lovely - last time - (after circling for 45 minutes in a landing queue, as you do, so that I nearly missed my connecting flight to Tokyo!!!!!) - we came in above a low cloud cover, and broke through it just in time to see the bridge and the glorious harbour and all the red roofs looking absolutely lovely - it is a breath-taking sight.

Sorry to say, we (Mom and I) haven't done anything to celebrate the holiday.

We did, however, enjoy a beautiful day of sunshine and warm breezes. Mom did all of her chores.....I put mine off!

Since my hours at work have been cut to almost half, I decided that I'd be bored to tears all week if I didn't have anything to do.

Maybe I should be posting on the procrastination thread again.....

Yes, margo, I thought that before .... I think this was meant to land in the What you're doing for Easter thread. Smile

Good to know that you've had a good rest, Rae! Very Happy
