I understand alot of US healthcare is provided privately and would love to learn more about this, ie how much it costs, whether its cheaper the healthier you are, what happens if you can't afford it etc.
Most people carry private health insurance through their place of work. You can buy a policy individually, but it is much more expensive, and usually has stipulations about pre-existing conditions.
Medicaid is health insurance for people with lower incomes, and little financial resources. It is administered by the individual states.
Medicare is for people over 65, and the disabled. It is administered by the federal government.
