Today Labour MP Robin Cook was laid to rest and Tony the tosser didn't think fit to turn up for his funeral.
Perhaps in his mind, being vice president of planet earth excluded him from such menial tasks, I know where my lifelong labour vote is going.
I don't find it at all surprising that he didn't turn up, Don1. Tony Blair's policies & actions caused a great deal of grief & angst for Robin Cook. I doubt that Robin Cook had any respect for Tony Blair prior to, during, & following his resignation. I doubt that Robin Cook's family & friends could have stomached Blair's presence at the funeral. It would have been hypocrisy for him to attend.
When Maggie kicks it Tony will thrown himself on the coffin. Sorry, that is really nasty and pointed and - appropriate. When he gave his speech from Opposition from my old school I was chuffed. When he won I was elated. I am now disappointed.
I suspect that just as his heroine Maggie T won a khaki election in 1982 after the Falklands that Tony is looking for a bump in the polls after the bombings and his response. That will fade as the fear and the paranoia fades and Britain gets back to its perfectly reasonable self.
