It is all according to the circumstances. Is he living with his spouse? Is a divorce "in the works"? Is the person really planning to get a divorce?

In general, a person going through a divorce needs time to recoup, and take stock of his life, before he enters another serious relationship. In most cases, a person who develops a relationship with a nearly or newly divorced person is in what they call a "transitional" relationship, at best.

And then there are the exceptions that prove the rule! Surprised

Mmm I think if they are actually into the paperwork of the divorce and it IS going to happen whatever then it is "ok" - as in how somethings are ok but some are just not cricket.

But I agree with Phoenix that although it may be orally and socially acceptable, the new divorcee needs time to take stock and regain their own persona
