Raising Our Community
I don't want to scare you guys, but things like this are perfectly understandable in our society.
It's unfortunate, but I think our own children's violence will increase quite a bit before people even start noticing, thinking things through, and changing our human direction for the better.
For someone like Uday Hussein (
incredible article here!)
this kind of behavior is simply the way the world is. That's all they've lived with and seen.
But to many families strung out with modern stress and isolation,
their waking nightmares are really not much different from Uday's.
When will we care about them? When was the last time most of us said Hi to our neighbors right next door, actually got to know them, help them, and be involved? Modern conveniences let us shut everyone out, and what a nightmare that is to the human spirit.
It takes an entire village to raise a child. Let's stop blaming others okay? It's our society, for us to shape and build. This is not TV you know, where you can just sit, do nothing but judge. We are part of our environment. We are the thing we complain about. We have the ability to participate.
I'm tired of so many of my good friends committing suicide. No one stops to even notice. Society is so overloaded and numb now, it will take far greater shocks to wake it up than ever before.
Some days, I'd rather be an aborigine.
